Dr. Udai B. Singh, presently working as Scientist (Senior Scale) in the Plant-Microbe Interaction & Rhizosphere Biology Lab, ICAR-National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms, Kushmaur, Maunath Bhanjan, Uttar Pradesh, India.
His specialized area are: Plant-Microbe Interactions in the rhizosphere with special reference to biotic and abiotic stress management/molecular biology/biotechnology/plant pathology. Academically, Dr. Singh completed his M.Sc. in Mycology & Plant Pathology (2007) from BHU, Varanasi and Ph.D. in Biotechnology (2017) from Integral University, Lucknow. Professionally, he served as Scientist (2009-2014) in Plant Pathology at ICAR-NBAIM, Kushmaur.
Dr. Singh has worked on GoI sponsored many projects as Principle Investigator (PI) and Co- Principle Investigator (Co-PI). Recently he is working on two major projects sponsored by ICAR as PI and three projects as Co-PI. As an active researcher, Dr. Singh has published many research and review articles in the different journals of national and international reputes along with several book chapters in the edited books. He has developed several microbial based bioformulations/technologies for sustainable crop production. His team has developed several databases and web-based portals for public use. Dr. Singh has authored book entitled ‘Compost Handbook’ with special emphasis on in situ and ex-situ decomposition of agricultural and municipal solid waste.
He has been awarded with several fellowship and medals during B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programme. Dr. Singh has been awarded with ‘DST Young Scientist’ under Fast-Track Scheme, ‘Young Scientist award’ of RASSA, New Delhi, Bharat Shiksha Ratan Award, K.P.V. Menon and Prof. K.S. Bilgrami Best Poster Award for the Year 2018 by Indian Phytopathological Society, New Delhi and Indian Society of Mycology & Plant Pathology, Udaipur. He also bagged several best oral and poster presentation award in different conferences/seminar/symposia. Apart from this, his magazine ‘Sookshmajeev Darshan’ has been awarded with ‘Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Krishi Patrika Puraskar’ by ICAR, New Delhi in the year 2015. Based on his contribution to science & society, he has been elected as Fellow of Society for Applied Biotechnology in 2014.
Dr. Singh has act as Guest Editor for Special Issue ‘Microorganisms in the Environment’ of International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health Published by MDPI. He is an active reviewer of several journals of national and international reputes. He has vast experience in organizing national and international training/workshops and congresses.
